Specialized writing/reading tutor for all ages and levels of ability. Also offering grade specific Social Studies tutoring. I have been a caring, creative mentor, coach and tutor for children ranging in age from 6 - 15 years, including homeschooling my own child. My ability to connect with the individuals I teach establishes the a level of trust that allows a student to learn effectively, as well as reach his or her educational goals. Realizing that every student is an individual with unique abilities and learning styles, I teach to the student's strengths. This sets me apart from traditional teachers who focus on methods that only degrade the student's confidence level. I have a B.A. in Integrated Social Sciences from the University of Washington. This multi-disciplinary educational background provides me with a deep understanding of humanity which contributes to my ability to create the all important connections with my students.
